About Us
Bringing World-Class Entertainment to Morgan City Since 1947
Our History
On September 24, 1947, approximately fifty citizens of Morgan City met to organize the Morgan City Municipal Concert Association. The goal was to bring world-class live entertainment to the community.
The Association was officially incorporated on August 17, 1950, and was renamed the Morgan City Community Concert Association on January 12, 1987.
The first officers were President Mrs. P.R. Norman, Vice President Mr. John Pharr, and Treasurer Mr. Eldred Naquin. The board has consisted of 6 to 24 members over the years.
Our Venue
Concerts were originally held in the M.D. Shannon Elementary gymnasium. In 1964, the Association moved to the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium, known as the Paul Schreier Theater (Schreier Theatre), where performances continue to this day.
